Greetings All,
WOW- 2008 has flown by. I can't believe it's been 6 months since our 25TH Reunion. For that matter, I can't believe it's been 25 years since we graduated. Webb has really changed with the years & I would love to have any of you who have visited to post comments & photos of your visits http://www.thewebbschool.com/alumni/ or on this blog we started for Reunion. http://webbclass1983.blogspot.com/
Speaking of Webb visits, I was on campus just a few weeks ago for the Alumni Board meeting & Class Agents Retreat. Both events were informative & fun. We took a walking tour of campus. Even though I am in Bell Buckle at least once a year, there were things that were new & things I had missed. The school has added Fine Arts space in our "OLD GYM" . The pool area is a studio and gallery area. Also a newly added Black Box theater. This stage will be used for smaller, low tech productions. First production? Thornton Wilder's Our Town.
More from the Meetings in November - The Board of Directors has targeted several upcoming development projects. Two things I can share with you, a fiber optic upgrade was approved so the school can support all the students, teachers & staff technology needs. The Directors also approved the purchase of a scanner & undertaking archiving the photos, history & memories of the Webb family & all the students of Webb.
The theme for the recent meetings was RECONNECT. The Alumni office is very focused on reconnecting with Alumni & keeping us in touch with Webb today. I challenge all of you to visit Webb & Bell Buckle. It's always great to see classmates at Reunion, if you are able to come & join us the date is April 24 2009. It doesn't matter that it is not an Honored year for us- think about the friends you had in the class of 1984- it will be their 25Th Reunion!! So we crash the party & catch up with those friends. It's also the 30Th for the 1979 crowd. If you can't make the April date then stop in any time you find yourself ( and your family ) in the area. Sandi Jobe ( Alumni Relations- class of 1995 ) loves company and a chance to visit with Alumni.....she wants to know why the Stacks in the OLibraryO are so funny to us. Call or email if you can before you visit & Sandi can arrange a student guide for your tour.
A quick reminder, if you plan for your Webb donation to be deducible on 2008, time is running out. To donate on-line. http://www.thewebbschool.com/alumni/give.asp
As all of us are hearing from the media, charitable donations are down for many institutions. Webb is no different & needs our support today & in the future. You may not be aware but the act of giving is as important as the amount of the gift itself. Webb could qualify for grants and will be applying for more in the future. Participation is a factor in securing those grants. Be generous if you can- Webb has provided a wealth of friends & a foundation in life for all of us. Please consider a gift of any size. You can help Webb can qualify for funding from other resources.
Another way to give back to Webb is to serve on the Board of Directors, Alumni Board or as Class Agent. Anyone with an interest in thes areas please let me know. I would love to have a another co-agent for our Class Addison Bibb & Eddie served us well for Reunion but would like to have some one else take the ball now. I am sure some of you would like more fresh voices from Class Agent, I welcome the help!
Wishing you all very Happy Holidays & a wonderful 2009.

Happy Holidays.....what are you planning?
I expect to visit my brother & his family on St Simons & then Momsit while my Dad & Brother abandon the family right after Christmas dinner to hunt ducks. Leaving us to our own devices for another few days, Can you say SHOPPING? The Thanksgiving Momsitting has gone well. We went to the High Museum to see this http://www.high.org/main.taf?p=3,1,1,10 and to the Civic Center to see this http://www.kingtut.org/home. We have eaten well & seen old friends. What do you and your family do to celebrate the holidays?

News from Webb
I went to the Alumni Board meeting on Saturday and things are really happening at Webb.
Since the new headmaster came to Webb the focus has been on improving the physical plant & operations of the school and enrollment. He's about go on the road to meet the Alumni & part of that change is Michael Morgan. You might remember him as Marilyn Morgan's son. He's been in the Navy and has a laser focus on developing the Alumni office & a 5 year committment to this job. In the past, we have had someone new every year or two, making the continuity of programs bumpy to say the least. There are several open positions on the Alumni Board if you know anyone who might be interested - we meet 3 x a year and work with the school, Board of Trustees & Class Agents.
One new thing is facebook.com , so lets all check in there. Search William R Webb. Add Old Sawney to your friends.
Can't wait to see you all- Mare

14 weeks till Reunion
I thought it would be great for us to have a place to check in and see what plans are being made and start revving up the excitement for Reunion 2008- how is it possible it has been 25 years? I know I thought we would all stay in touch & see one another often. That has been true of some and not with others. If you haven't been back to Webb in awhile -or at all since May 0f 1983 - you will find lots has changed and lots has stayed the same. The same is true of our Classmates. Over the years as Class Agent I have been able to chat with most of you. I enjoyed the chance to catch up & see where life has taken us. We are an interesting bunch to say the least.
Karin & Mark Bailey have been our Class Agents for several years & are taking a well deserved break. Addison Bibb-Walker and Eddie Rehfeldt have stepped up to the challange of the job. You may have heard from them already to see what your interest in Reunion activites might be. Of course we would love to have 100 % attendance. Spouses & children truly are welcome. We are thinking about a Family Picnic - just pot luck on Saturday afternoon. Just be sure to warn your spouse - not all the stories are true and some details may be embellished for amusment purposes only.
Friday night is the formal Reunion party- if you can call a tent in front of the Old Gym - formal. We do class photos that night so it would be great to have everyone there for that. Our theme is Lights, Action Camera- so get ready for your closeup. Saturday is a great day to wander down memory lane and into the hallowed classrooms. Don't forget the shops in Bell Buckle. The town has become a retail mecca compared to our limited shopping options but the pace is the same!
I hope you will all make the trek back to Webb. The people are what makes the Weekend great and trust me, we will miss you if you can't make it.
